10 Valentines Proposal Ideas

What better day than Valentines Day to pop the question to the one you love? Here are ten ideas to help make your proposal even more romantic:

1. SWEET

Using the popular ‘Love Heart’ candy sweets, make a trail from the front door to your living room, bedroom or kitchen where a big candy heart awaits with the words ‘Marry Me?’

2. COUNT DOWN

For the 14 days leading up to Valentines Day, give your loved one a creative, heart inspired gift every day, then on the big day cook them a special dinner and pop the question!

3. SAY IT IN SNOW

Find a location of unmarred snowy ground, walk the outline of a big heart and add your initials to the centre. Take your fiance to be on a special walk where you stumble across your artwork and pop the all important question.

CC - Snow Marry Me

4. SHOWER THEM WITH LOVE

Buy a box of small valentines cards and write one reason on each one why you love them or a favourite shared memory of each other. Plant them everywhere; in a coat pocket, in the fridge, behind the windscreen wiper of the car and anywhere else you can think of. On the day itself, present the last and biggest card – your proposal!

5. TURN OUT THE LIGHTS

Chilly February is a good month to snuggle down in the warm. Light up the room by spelling it out on the ceilling with letters cut from glow-in-the-dark paper. Put the ring under the pillow and surprise them with your proposal.

6. SAY IT WITH FLOWERS

Roses! the most popular and romantic flower for Valentines Day.

CC - Roses

7. SING A SONG

Write a love song ending with your proposal and upload on a website including photographs of you both. Send the link to them at the end of the day, at home or at work, making sure you are home ready for when they return!

8. CHARM THEM

Make a charm bracelet filled with charms that represent wonderful memories together. One could be a miniature locket which then opens and says ‘Marry Me?’

CC - Charm

9. WAX POETIC

What could be more romantic than a poem dedicated to your loved one? Take the time to include places you have been together, memories and times shared. The more you pour into it the more your loved one will treasure it

10. GET A LIFT

Hop on a ski lift and propose as you sail over the snow-capped trees.

However you choose to propose, I’m sure it will be a magical moment!
