Winter Wedding Tips

We have had a great start to the New Year at Clearwell Castle with some lovely January weddings.  Similar to much of the UK we have had a generous helping of snow and the Castle is looking like a true winter wonderland – what a beautiful back drop it has created for our couples!

Winter can be such a beautiful time to get married and is becoming an increasingly popular season to wed!  We have put together a few tips for creating a wonderful winter wedding.

Log fires create such a warm atmosphere and serving guests a warm winter drink such as mulled wine or Winter Pimm’s makes for the perfect start to a winter wedding. Warming your guests up with a nice hot drink will ensure they are happy from the start!  Here at Clearwell Castle we offer a ‘Winter Wow Wedding Package’ including a firework display accompanied by hot chocolate, mini toffee apples and home made ginger bread- a lovely treat for your guests! We have found this ties in very well with a winter wedding theme. Also in this fantastic package Brides and Grooms can provide their guests with an evening hog roast- good warm hearty food for your winter wedding!

You should aim for an early ceremony so there is lots of time to take photos before the light fades and Brides should invest in a faux fur jacket or stole to keep warm between shots.

Lighting is also very important as you can create a truly magical atmosphere with the clever use of lighting. This can vary from candles to fairy lights. Experimenting with lighting is fabulous!

Creating intimacy and warmth is fantastic and these pictures show it is not just during the summer season you can get some amazing shots!!
