We are delighted to announce that Clearwell Castle has won an award at Hitched Wedding Awards 2024 in the Castle Wedding Venue Category – this was awarded was thanks to all the amazing reviews & testimonials that our couples gave us in 2023!
The Castle was also voted ‘Best Castle Wedding Venue’ at the British Wedding Awards 2020! This is an incredible achievement after being shortlisted this category at both Hitched’s UK Wedding Awards 2019 AND the British Wedding Awards 2019! We were voted ‘Best UK Wedding Venue’ in the British Wedding Awards 2018 by our couples & readers of Wedding Ideas Magazine for the third year running – fingers crossed we can make four in a row!
We were finalists for the same awards in 2015. In addition, we were shortlisted as ‘Best Castle Wedding Venue’ at the UK Wedding Awards 2017, were regional winners at the English Wedding awards 2016, and were overall winners of the Wedding Ideas Awards in 2012 and 2010.
As a wedding photographer I cannot recommend Clearwell Castle enough.
It is the dream venue to get married with so much to offer. Can you imagine getting married in a castle with its own private grounds, well, dreams do come true.
This place is so well run by the staff and they can’t do enough to make your day extra special.

Thank you for a wonderful day at Mel &Cai’s wedding on the 6th January. Everything was amazing from start to finish. Staff were amazing and nothing was a problem for them. Room was gorgeous and I work in hospitality and can honestly say everything was perfect!

Over the last 16 years we have been lucky enough to do many weddings at Clearwell Castle. Without exception, we have seen nothing but staff going the extra mile for their couples, and for us as wedding suppliers.
Nothing is ever too much trouble. They are always welcoming and helpful.
When suppliers “work” at venues, they don’t just see what they are like once, like perhaps a couple would, but many times, so you get a bigger picture from these. But we have also been to one full wedding here, and one evening party. Both times, we had great service and food. Could not fault a thing.

The grounds looked absolutely stunning with the light dusting of snow – every winter weddings dream. Every member of staff we encountered was extremely helpful and polite. The food served was beautiful.

We can say hands down we picked the right venue and if we were to do it all again, we would choose this venue in a heartbeat.

Simon was our wedding planner, he went above and beyond, not only in the months prior to the wedding but also on the day! Nothing was too much trouble and he seamlessly managed everything, and the day ran so smoothly despite the unexpected snowfall.
