We are delighted to announce that Clearwell Castle has won an award at Hitched Wedding Awards 2024 in the Castle Wedding Venue Category – this was awarded was thanks to all the amazing reviews & testimonials that our couples gave us in 2023!
The Castle was also voted ‘Best Castle Wedding Venue’ at the British Wedding Awards 2020! This is an incredible achievement after being shortlisted this category at both Hitched’s UK Wedding Awards 2019 AND the British Wedding Awards 2019! We were voted ‘Best UK Wedding Venue’ in the British Wedding Awards 2018 by our couples & readers of Wedding Ideas Magazine for the third year running – fingers crossed we can make four in a row!
We were finalists for the same awards in 2015. In addition, we were shortlisted as ‘Best Castle Wedding Venue’ at the UK Wedding Awards 2017, were regional winners at the English Wedding awards 2016, and were overall winners of the Wedding Ideas Awards in 2012 and 2010.
We had a perfect wedding day at Clearwell Castle! Could not recommend it enough as a magical wedding venue, especially at Christmas!
All the staff were wonderful and so helpful. The catering was incredible and they offer very generous portions.
A personal thank you to our wedding planner Phaedra who was fantastic throughout the whole process. She worked all day and could not do enough for us. There is no way the day would have gone so smoothly if she wasn’t there to keep an eye on things.

I wanted to personally thank you for everything you have done for us over the last year in planning and preparing for our wedding last Friday, the wedding was a complete success from start to finish and none of that could of happened without you!!
There is absolutely nothing about the day that I would have changed, and it all went so well in such a stunning location, I cannot thank you enough because it was your efforts that made the day go smoothly.
From start to finish you were available and on hand and made the day so relaxing and stress free, your calm approach to everything was so satisfying and made the day so much more enjoyable for us. Many thanks once again.

Danny and I wanted to thank Phaedra so much for everything she did to make last Friday the best day of our lives. We are still overwhelmed by how amazing the day was.
It all went off perfectly, the food was incredible, and the DJ played the best music, getting everyone up and dancing all night. Thank you, Phaedra, so much for ensuring we had the best day; we had no stress in the buildup or on the day because you took care of everything for us.
Can’t believe we were lucky enough to have our wedding at Clearwell Castle, and it was definitely lucky we were assigned Phaedra as our wedding planner.

Amazing wedding venue! The grounds are stunning to wander around and have pictures. The whole day and planning up to our day were easy and slickly executed.
We wanted to keep the day as simple as possible for ourselves so having a package venue with food, bar and DJ all included was definitely a great way to do it. The accommodation is worth it for convenience, even if slightly expensive.
But the breakfast the following morning was excellent. And guests staying in the Wyndham could join too at the Castle.
My wife and I, booked this venue Jan 2022, and we got married on the 20th October 2022. Everything was amazing, from the accommodation, the castle, the scenery, the ceremony, to the evening fireworks and the first dance.
Our Personal Wedding Manager Simon Cooper, was second to none. Our wedding was highly organised and the communication was fantastic. He really made our special day even more special. He co-ordinated to all our suppliers for the day, and we didn’t have to worry about anything. He was so calm, relaxed and kept us at ease.
Our food choices were great, given the vast selection of food available.
