How to choose the perfect wedding transportation

Travelling to and from the wedding should be done in style. From a classic car to a bike, there are several fun ideas to consider for your wedding transportation. In this post, we take a look at your potential options.

Wedding car

A vintage car is a wedding transportation classic and will help evoke the glamour from weddings of the past. A classic car is also a great prop for stylish wedding photographs! There are so many different choices when it comes to vintage cars. Think carefully about your wedding theme and colour palette to help make your decision. Your car choice should also take into account the season – a convertible two seater won’t be suitable for a winter wedding!

A vintage car is also an ideal opportunity for some fun decoration. You may like to attach the classic tin cans used by brides and grooms in the past. Many modern brides and grooms have fun painting their own ‘just married sign’ and attaching it to the back of their getaway car. Sashes, flowers and other decoration are super additions too.

Bikes

If you don’t have a huge budget to spend and you love the idea of a feeling the fresh summer or spring air as you pedal your way to the ceremony, then you should consider riding to and from your wedding venue on a bike. While a bike may not be the most practical choice for a bride with a long, full skirt, it may be just right for a bride in a short dress or wedding day jumpsuit. The groom shouldn’t have any problems, either.

Bus

We’ve already explored the charm of the vintage car, but have you thought about heading to the ceremony on a vintage bus? A bus may be the perfect choice for a bride or groom with a lot of groomsmen or bridesmaids. It is also a great choice if you are planning to transport your wedding guests. In that case, why not go for a double decker?

Helicopter

For couples with cash to spend, using a helicopter is the ultimate transport statement. It will add a layer of excitement to the day, and is a jaw-dropping way to appreciate a wedding venue with spectacular grounds. The Knot explores the fun of flying to and from your venue:

“Make a wow-worthy exit (or entrance) in your very own helicopter. A chartered helicopter can typically carry three to six people, in case you want to take your attendants along for the ride. Keep in mind that you need a certain amount of open space to land a helicopter safely, and local air travel laws can apply. Consider your reception location and check for restrictions with the charter company when making your choice.”
