Are you at the beginning of planning your wedding? Choosing a colour theme can be a difficult decision especially ensuring that everything is coordinated for the big day!
If your wedding is during the summer months of May, June or July it can provide some of the most vibrant and energising colour palettes for brides.
Some of the best colours for a May wedding are ones that can be represented by flowers in season- blue, yellow, pink and purple are amongst the most popular colours for May as a wide range of flowers are in bloom that can complement your scheme.
Blue
Many vibrant coloured flowers such as anemone, delphinium, forget-me-nots, hydrangea, larkspur and iris are all in full bloom by May. Pale and pastel blues can be seen to be more suited for spring than navy or darker blues. A secondary colour of ivory, silver and cream also complement well.
Purple
A beautiful colour for formal ceremonies, purple can add a sense of royalty to any wedding. The softer shades of purple such as lilac, hyacinth and lavender are more warming than darker colours during May. Again purple is an ideal colour to suit cream and silver and even taupe and pale yellow.
Pink
The colour of romance! A very popular colour for weddings and also for bridesmaids dresses. Peonies, stargazer lilies, sweet pea, waxflower and ranunculus are just a small selection of the pink colour range of flowers that are available for the summer season.
Yellow
And finally yellow. I always find yellow a fresh colour that reminds me of spring, a time for daffodils, daisies and sunflowers. Yellow is a symbol of attraction and friendship and is an ideal colour for a wedding ceremony.
There are a wide range of colours to choose from on your big day and no matter what colour you choose, remember to choose wisely, set the mood and finally, remember that not all colours are easy to wear- think who will be wearing these colours before making that final decision!
