The Wedding Alphabet – Part 4

U – Umbrellas

I know it’s not nice to think that it may rain on your big day but covering the possibility of this before the day comes is a really good idea. It doesn’t matter if it does rain because you can get some lovely photographs if you make sure you have some nice white umbrellas.  We supply them in case of bad weather and you can even buy one to take home to use after your special day!

V – Veils

The history of wedding veils tells us that, in ancient times, the Greeks used it as a way of protecting the bride from evil spirits, while in Medieval times it was worn as a symbol of purity and chastity. Today’s modern Bride has so many options of different veils or head pieces. Do your research as what veil you choose will very much depend on the style of your dress.

W – Wedding Etiquette

I have listed a few common questions people always ask regarding wedding etiquette I hope this helps!

What time should the Bride and Groom get to the ceremony?

The Groom and best man should arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes before the Bride. It’s the Bride’s prerogative to be the last to arrive, but don’t overdo the lateness or your Groom may be a bundle of nerves by the time you make it up the aisle.

Do bridesmaids enter before or after the Bride?

In England, your bridesmaids traditionally follow you up the aisle (in America, it’s usually the other way around). Some Brides like to have a flower girl enter first, but there’s no set rule.

When are the speeches conducted and what order should they go?

Traditionally, the speeches are made as coffee is served and the Bride’s father speaks first, followed by the Groom and best man.

X – Xtra Special Day!

This is the most important day of your life so ENJOY every minute!

Y – Is for you

Remember your wedding day is all about the two of you. Do what makes you happy and plan the day that resembles your personality. Everyone will want their input and have their opinions, but all that really matters is what will make the two of you happy.

Z – ZzZzZzZz

Make sure you get a good night’s sleep the night before the big day, you don’t want to look or feel tired as you want to be able to enjoy every special moment!
