Planning your wedding can be one of the most stressful times in your life. There’s a lot of pressure on both bride and groom to plan a great day. Although it will be worth it in the end, it’s no fun to struggle when planning your wedding. To help, we’ve scoured the web to assemble this list of tips and tricks to relieve some of the pressure.
Delegating tasks is crucial to alleviating unnecessary stress. As our friends over at The Knot say:
“Learning to manage stress involves knowing what you’re capable of handling. Think critically about all the tasks you have on your plate, including your daily responsibilities (work, chores, etc.) and all those wedding planning to-dos (DIY favors, florist appointments, and gown alterations). From there, decide what you can and cannot handle. Then call on your family and friends to help take over some of your wedding-related tasks.”
2. Have a Break
It’s hard to look through a calendar, only to find that every single day is packed with tasks. So make time for a break! Whether it’s a day off from wedding planning, or a short break away from it all for a good days, it’s a good idea to take a breather. Whatever you choose, it’s sure to do you a power of good.
3. Try out Yoga
If you haven’t experienced yoga already, you’re missing out. Yoga is the art of relaxation in its most positive form, good for the mind, body and soul. Even if you do it for 30 minutes each day or an hour every other day, it will be one of the best things you can do to let the stress just fall away.
4. Offload to Friends
It’s long been said that the best therapy is simply having a drink and chatting with your loved ones. When you’re planning your wedding, this is one of the greatest (and easiest) ways to release a bit of stress. So, get on the phone to your best mates and book an evening together down at your local bar or pub.
5. Stick to a Healthy Diet
A healthy diet is an important thing to have throughout your life, but during the months of wedding planning you may feel the desire to slip, and start consuming the wrong carbs and calories.
