A Fairy-tale Castle Wedding Venue in the Heart of Gloucestershire

Set in 20 acres of grounds, complete with a cocktail terrace and croquet lawn, Clearwell Castle boasts a dreamy castle exterior paired with charming decor, plush furnishings, and comfort around every corner. Our beautiful manor house & grounds are nestled within the romantic Forest of Dean and offers an enchanting venue for your wedding day.

Make your way through the forest and notice the magnificent facade, which affords picture-perfect photo opportunities. Despite its elegance and grandeur, this Gloucestershire venue is warm and ready to welcome you.

The church-like Ballroom boasts a 75-foot-long aisle, raised dais and leaded windows. Alternatively, couples can opt for an al-fresco affair on the bandstand within our manicured gardens with their very own Castle backdrop. Fine dining follows, with our team of in-house chefs able to create menus to suit any taste, with hand-picked house wines available to complement the exquisite wedding breakfast.

The modern Cellar Bar has been designed with your evening reception in mind and offers a contemporary setting to end your night in further celebration with a spacious dancefloor and disco lighting. The addition of The Wyndham just a short stroll away means there are now an additional twenty-four bedrooms (and bar facilities) on top of the fifteen Castle bedrooms for your wedding night. If one night is not enough, you can upgrade and stay for two!

From the moment we booked, the team have been fabulous! We could not have wished for a more picturesque venue with such catering staff. Any requests we had were sorted and we knew that someone was always a phone call or email away. We were supported throughout the experience which made it more effortless for us as a couple planning the biggest day of our lives. We were made to feel that no question was a stupid question even if we thought it might be. The night before our big day, we were able to access our accommodation easily and Anne welcomed us going over any last-minute notes for the next day. It was perfect in every way.
I am so thrilled we chose Clearwell Castle as the venue to hold our celebrations. It was perfect in every way. We are still on cloud 9! Phaedra was incredible in helping us feel relaxed and organised in the run up to our wedding. During the wedding all the staff were so attentive, our guests were so well looked after, and we could relax knowing that we could just enjoy the day and the staff would get us when we were needed!
