A Fairy-tale Castle Wedding Venue in the Heart of Gloucestershire

The house was beautiful inside, especially with the Christmas tree. We really liked the understated elegance vibe, which meant it looked amazing but was still warm and welcoming.

Despite the horrible weather, the grounds always looked immaculate whenever we visited and also on our special day. The bedrooms are beautiful and in keeping with the rest of the house's vibe.

Emma was just amazing and made the whole experience great. Her timely planning and advice made the experience really easy and not stressful at all. She always went above and beyond, especially on the day, setting up all our cakes, moving our table decorations downstairs for the evening, which really made us feel well looked after and added to the specialness of the day. All the food on the day was lovely, really well-cooked and presented.

Absolutely stunning, every part of the decor was incredible, and the history maintained. Perfect venue. Again, the grounds, surrounding buildings, and the castle itself are just perfect and well-maintained. Many guests also complimented how stunning it was.

All the rooms we looked at were stunning, and I loved how Keeper's Cottage looks straight into the Gresham Honeymoon Suite, which again was stunning!

Ela was absolutely incredible from the moment we were allocated her to be part of our journey. Nothing was ever too much trouble, she was always available to answer questions or explain any queries thoroughly, professional at all times and just a pleasure to be around.  Everyone was highly professional, always smiling, polite, and nothing was ever too much to ask. Again, the whole wedding planning/process/event was fantastic, and that is down to the team and the high delivery standards they uphold. Was an honour to have our wedding at Clearwell!

A huge number of compliments were received from guests on all the food served. Ela needs huge recognition for a perfect execution, and also her team the night before and the day of the wedding, nothing was too much trouble.

Laura was just so kind and warm and welcoming - we did not feel uncomfortable and felt we could be ourselves, and there was no pressure to commit. She was really informative and knowledgeable about everything we asked about.

She was one of the reasons we decided to opt for Clearwell as our venue. We had visited many venues prior, and she was one of the few who made us feel comfortable. Ela was one of the nicest, down-to-earth people we have met. She was a joy to work with and made sure she understood all of our needs prior to the wedding.

She listened to our vision and helped us achieve everything we had hoped for. Nothing was too much trouble, and she is a gift to Clearwell and the team. Jordan and I were so grateful for everything she had done for us she made us feel like she was a friend rather than a client.

We could not have wished for a more picturesque venue with such catering staff. Any requests we had were sorted and we knew that someone was always a phone call or email away. We were supported throughout the experience which made it more effortless for us as a couple planning the biggest day of our lives. We were made to feel that no question was a stupid question even if we thought it might be.

The night before our big day, we were able to access our accommodation easily and Anne welcomed us going over any last-minute notes for the next day. On the day of our wedding, a breakfast hamper was delivered to both accommodations with Anne’s words of wisdom calming us both. As the day went on, the staff were phenomenal with requests and questions and supported us and calmed us throughout. We were talked through every step which really put our minds at ease.

When Anne finished for the day, she passed us onto Phaedra who was equally as amazing as Anne. When complications with the singer occurred, Phaedra helped calm me down and assure me when he arrived and that everything was going to plan as the singer was a surprise.

Overall, the Clearwell Castle staff are amazing, from the wedding managers to the bar staff and cleaners! Thank you so much for making our day the most special it could be. Our guests are still talking about it now all these months on.

The grounds made for gorgeous photo opportunities. The honeymoon suite was amazing and incredible to get ready in with my bridesmaids on the day of the wedding.

On the build-up to the wedding, Phaedra was incredible - she was very supportive and helped us with all our enquiries. The wedding breakfast food was amazing and commented on by a number of the guests. The two wines we had for the wedding breakfast were lovely.

The castle was beautiful, and everything was perfect. From the amazingly tasting cocktails on arrival, the most intimate ceremony, the fabulous table display and stunning dinner.

One of the memories I will cherish is my mother and my children laughing whilst happily playing croquet on the lawn in the afternoon sun.

Being gluten intolerant is always a concern for me when dining. My concerns diminished as the staff knew of my needs even before I had mentioned it to them. I felt so relieved.

I am often excluded from eating the same foods as my family. On this occasion, I was able to enjoy the same two courses. It was then such a surprise to have a gluten-free cheesecake made especially for me. Please do thank the chef, as it really was the most delicious dessert I have ever had. During the evening, the staff had also prepared a gluten-free burger! I was so impressed.

Please thank the staff who were amazing. They were so professional, organised and kind. You all went out of your way to ensure the day went smoothly.

As guests we felt so special in such glorious surroundings. Celebrating Dan and Hannah's wedding surrounded with the people we hold dear, the day couldn't have been better.

The house is absolutely stunning and in keeping with the period. Everything is tastefully decorated and timeless. The grounds are beautiful and incredibly well-maintained; they looked picture-perfect.

The bedrooms are lovely and are in keeping with the style of the rest of the house. We had multiple emails, calls and Zoom calls with Phaedra. She was absolutely incredible, nothing was a problem, and she made me feel very at ease with the whole Process. Phaedra is quite possibly the best human being in the world. So is so very good at her job, and I'm sure she isn't paid nearly enough. From start to finish, she was incredible.

Laura was fantastic at providing the info we needed to book. Everyone we've spoken to in the build-up has been beyond helpful, and our wedding planner Emily has been fantastic.

I don't know his name but there was one barman, a young guy with longish black hair, who was absolutely excellent on the day and a few of our guests commented how fantastic he was!

Emily has gone above and beyond, from little hints and tips in the build-up to the support on the day. I felt totally reassured that nothing was too much trouble and Emily was so easy to deal with and approachable. She was fantastic - thank you Emily!

The food was fantastic.
