Dinner Date Evening – Tuesday 30th April 2019

Come and join us on Tuesday 30th April 2019 for a Dinner Date Evening here at the Castle.

Starting at 5pm you will be able to check-in to accommodation and enjoy an overnight stay in one of our luxurious 15 Castle Bedrooms. Of course an overnight stay is optional however don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy a break in the beautiful Forest of Dean.

 

 

Relax with a drink in our Drawing Room from 5.30pm where live music will commence.

 

Dinner will be served at 7pm where you will be able to enjoy dishes from the menu below –

STARTERS

Salmon Fishcake
On a bed of crushed peas with homemade tartar sauce

Chicken and Halloumi Salad
Lemon chicken with pan-fried halloumi served on a crisp pomegranate salad, ribbons of cumberland sage croutons

Beetroot Carpaccio (V)
Thinly sliced poached beetroot with a goats cheese mousse balsamic glaze and a wild herb dressing

Breaded Brie (V)
Wild salad, spice chutney, onion bread crumb and lemon pearls

MAIN COURSES

Beef Wellington
Fillet steak set on a mushroom duxelle and baked in puff pastry, served with a Madeira sauce horseradish mash and garnished with watercress

Chicken Saltimbocca
Plump chicken breast stuffed with buffalo mozzarella topped with a sage leaf and wrapped in prosciutto accompanied by char grilled asparagus, spinach and parmesan potato cake and a light jus

Pan Fried Fillet of Sea Bass
Served on sweet potato puree with a caper and herb dressing and red vein sorrel

Thai Vegetable Curry (V)
Served with sticky coconut rice

DESSERTS

Blueberry and Vanilla Crème Brulee
Rich vanilla custard with a crispy caramel top accompanied by blueberry compote and biscotti biscuit

Chocolate Fudge Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream
Finished with chocolate sauce and blackberry coulis

Lemon Tart
A rich lemon filling in crispy pastry finished with clotted cream, caramelised lemon zest, blackberry coulis and white chocolate crispy pearls

Caramel Apple Crumble
Amazing twist on a great British classic, toffee apple crumble topped with a rich crisp crumble and homemade custard ice cream

 

This is the perfect opportunity for you to sample our chefs style of cooking ahead of your wedding day here at the Castle or for our past couples we would love to see you back here at the Castle where you can reminisce about your special day. Our Dinner Date Evening is open to all so bring along family and friends to enjoy what will be a wonderful evening.

 

What you can expect!

A chance to sample house wines – our dedicated food and beverage team will be happy to talk you through our wine list and go through the options for upgrading for your big day!

Sample a selection of cheeses on a cheese board served to your table as a second dessert!

Enjoy a treat with our Candy Bar which we will be there for you to enjoy for a final round of dessert!
