During December, you become immersed in the delights of Clearwell at Christmas. As you head down the sweeping driveway towards the entrance, which is tucked back from the road, the first sighting of the castle is even more awe-inspiring. With the trees blessed with a beautiful layer of frost and twinkling lights entwined throughout the branches, you find yourself in a winter escape. This beauty is echoed throughout the castle, with Christmas sparkle around every corner.
Every moment of your wedding at Clearwell is full of the sights, sounds and smells you know and love at Christmas. Throughout the day, enjoy the 18ft real Christmas tree in the main hall, the Christmas carols playing on the grand piano, the log fire crackling in the Grand Reception room, and the smell of cinnamon in the air.
A 18th-century haven, you can enjoy a traditional ceremony in our Ballroom with high ceilings and grand windows that give the illusion of a church wedding. As you glide down the 75-foot-long aisle, time almost stops, allowing you to cherish every moment before the ‘I dos.’
To ensure your day is unforgettable, you can be greeted by donkeys on arrival, enjoy a lakeside stroll, be captivated by the candle-lit entranceway, or take photos in the Bandstand with the castle in the background.
Once the festivities start to wind down, you can take a moment to yourself in the Library. Sink into the imposing armchairs, reflect on the beauty of the Christmas decorations, and enjoy the music with a glass of bubbly before you and your guests retire to your rooms.
A choice of luxury rooms awaits the guests and, much like the newlyweds, they will spend the night in our lavish and plentiful castle bedrooms. For the happy couple, the Gresham Honeymoon Suite is a standout room; with high ceilings and a four-poster bed, plush furnishings and views over the grounds. The perfect way to end a perfect day.
