We are delighted to announce that Clearwell Castle has won an award at Hitched Wedding Awards 2024 in the Castle Wedding Venue Category – this was awarded was thanks to all the amazing reviews & testimonials that our couples gave us in 2023!
The Castle was also voted ‘Best Castle Wedding Venue’ at the British Wedding Awards 2020! This is an incredible achievement after being shortlisted this category at both Hitched’s UK Wedding Awards 2019 AND the British Wedding Awards 2019! We were voted ‘Best UK Wedding Venue’ in the British Wedding Awards 2018 by our couples & readers of Wedding Ideas Magazine for the third year running – fingers crossed we can make four in a row!
We were finalists for the same awards in 2015. In addition, we were shortlisted as ‘Best Castle Wedding Venue’ at the UK Wedding Awards 2017, were regional winners at the English Wedding awards 2016, and were overall winners of the Wedding Ideas Awards in 2012 and 2010.
My wife and I, booked this venue Jan 2022, and we got married on the 20th October 2022. Everything was amazing, from the accommodation, the castle, the scenery, the ceremony, to the evening fireworks and the first dance.
Our Personal Wedding Manager Simon Cooper, was second to none. Our wedding was highly organised and the communication was fantastic. He really made our special day even more special. He co-ordinated to all our suppliers for the day, and we didn’t have to worry about anything. He was so calm, relaxed and kept us at ease.
Our food choices were great, given the vast selection of food available.
Thank you for making our wedding from a notepad list of ideas to a fairytale wedding.
We want to say the biggest thank you to Ann, for creating our most perfect day.
Just everything was magical and ran so smoothly. We could not have asked for anything more. Please also say thank you to Summer for providing a lovely dinner the night before for my family and everything that she did the morning of the wedding.
I also want to say a big thank you to you for all your patience in the meetings before and in the run up, especially the day before, for the morning of the wedding and helping me get in the car!
I want to say a massive thank you to Keeslee and all of the team!
My daughter and son in law had the day of their dreams. Nothing was too much trouble and Keeslee was just simply amazing!!

We can’t even begin to describe how fantastic our wedding day was here last week from the moment we booked our dream day in September 2021, the Clearwell team have been in close contact and so friendly and helpful through the whole journey!
In particular, a huge thank you to Keeslee, who honestly could not do enough to help us. He is absolutely incredible at his job.
Also, another note to the CHEF! The food was amazing, honestly some of the best food I have ever had, and we only had positive feedback from friends and family. Accommodation was perfect, day was perfect, and the team were perfect.
We will defiantly be returning for a dinner date in the future.
Our day was perfect at Clearwell Castle, and our guests said that it was the best wedding they had been to.

My daughter Georgia got married at The Castle Friday and I wanted to say thank you for everything the day was perfect.
The venue was incredible and the sun shone, the staff were exceptional and I really could not find one fault even if I had to.
The food, service, everything was exceptional but the biggest thank you has to be to Simon he did not stop from morning to night, he was an absolute credit to you.
From the moment we booked, the team have been fabulous!
We could not have wished for a more picturesque venue with such catering staff. Any requests we had were sorted and we knew that someone was always a phone call or email away. We were supported throughout the experience which made it more effortless for us as a couple planning the biggest day of our lives. We were made to feel that no question was a stupid question even if we thought it might be.
The night before our big day, we were able to access our accommodation easily and Anne welcomed us going over any last-minute notes for the next day. On the day of our wedding, a breakfast hamper was delivered to both accommodations with Anne’s words of wisdom calming us both. As the day went on, the staff were phenomenal with requests and questions and supported us and calmed us throughout. We were talked through every step which really put our minds at ease.
When Anne finished for the day, she passed us onto Phaedra who was equally as amazing as Anne. When complications with the singer occurred, Phaedra helped calm me down and assure me when he arrived and that everything was going to plan as the singer was a surprise.
Overall, the Clearwell Castle staff are amazing, from the wedding managers to the bar staff and cleaners! Thank you so much for making our day the most special it could be. Our guests are still talking about it now all these months on.
We just wanted to send a message to thank you all once again for allowing us to have such a special day.
Your staff were absolutely phenomenal, nothing was too much to ask for and Keeslee ensured that everything was perfection. He was absolutely amazing!
We are truly grateful for your excellent communication and ongoing support over the past 3 years. Despite Covid, we finally got married in our dream venue!
