Windsor Castle

After announcing their engagement in December last year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are wasting no time at all. The couple are due to get married on 19th May 2018 at Windsor Castle. As a country house venue with a passion for taking inspiration from real weddings, we can’t wait to see what hot trends the most eagerly awaited wedding of the year embraces. Read on to discover our predictions for the royal wedding.

Bridal attire that’s traditional with a twist

Prince Harry and Meghan aren’t a couple known for their predictability. Whilst Prince William and Kate had their classic wedding at Westminster Abbey, Prince Harry and Meghan opted for a more low-key venue choice in the form of the chapel of Windsor Castle. As with any royal wedding, there will be traditions that must be adhered to, but the bride’s attire is expected to be very modern. Meghan’s style is simple and timeless, and whilst her wedding attire is set to follow suit, it’s expected that she’ll add a special detail as a twist on the classic.

A royal but relaxed atmosphere

With Meghan hailing from California and Harry known for taking a sometimes informal approach to upholding royal protocol, the vibe of the royal wedding may be a little different. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement photos hinted that a royal but relaxed atmosphere could be expected during the spring wedding. Mindy Weiss provided her predictions in a recent Inside Weddings article:

“I think Meghan will respect the formality of the British tradition for the ceremony and reception. I envision white peonies, crystal candelabras, and touches of greenery woven throughout those crystal accents – with the addition of trees and foliage to give the room a bit of that California vibe. The after-party will be where their true personalities will come out, as I’m sure they’ll have a fabulous DJ!”

The wedding cake will also be simple but romantic, in accordance with the relaxed theme. Perhaps a few touches of baby’s breath will sweeten things further.

Arrangements embracing all things green

In addition to her acting career, Meghan Markle is known for her humanitarian work. The soon-to-be royal is global ambassador of World Vision and has worked across a number of charitable projects. Meghan also refers to herself regularly as a yoga enthusiast. With these passions in mind, it’s expected that all things green will be embraced at the ceremony and reception. Candle-lit tables will be decorated with simple white arrangements. Touches of lavender are another inspired touch we’re envisioning for the blooms that will decorate Windsor Castle. Foliage will be incorporated to complement the classic palette and wider spring season.
