Clearwell Castle is beautiful both inside and out. The interior was clean and very well presented, our guests loved the grandeur of the entrance room and were very impressed with the Ceremony space.

They found their rooms to be straight out of a period piece like Pride and Prejudice, and loved the whole vibe of the castle. We found the cellar to be our favourite space, the curved ceilings, dance floor, bar, and disco ball really helped our guests find the party atmosphere for the evening of our wedding.

The rooms were right out of Pride and Prejudice. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were really clean and tidy. Our guests loved the subtle theming of the rooms as well. Communication on the build-up to the wedding was fantastic. This is where the staff really shined. The bar and serving staff were outstanding, there was too please and nothing was too much. They were quick to serve and keep cool when serving the food. We were very pleased with all the staff on the day.

Nick, our DJ, absolutely smashed it. He only took requests from me and my husband, the playlist was exactly what we wanted, and we found it hard to leave the dance floor, as did our guests. Thank you all so much for your support on the day. Emily was out wedding planner, and she was outstanding. ‘The best food I’ve ever had at a wedding’ One of our guests said the morning after the wedding. The food was hot, delicious and flavourful. It was even better than we remembered at the tasting. There were so many empty plates as we walked around the room.

Attended for a friend’s wedding. Beautiful venue inside and out. The gardens were picture perfect. Loads of rooms to celebrate in. Food was amazing.

So glad that we chose Clearwell Castle as our wedding venue and Emily as our wedding planner. From initial viewing, food tasting and meetings with Emily we had a brilliant day that ran like clockwork, great service from all the staff, lovely food (wedding breakfast, evening buffet and family and friends breakfast before departure).

Gorgeous accommodation especially the bridal suite. Wish we had longer to enjoy it.. One of the great things about this venue is that you’re not stuck in one room all day. The run of the castle is yours all day. Ballroom for ceremony and reception, comfortable lounges and bar post ceremony and dedicated nightclub and chill out areas for evening disco. Disco was great and for a Monday school night in January the venue was full until midnight. Overall considering what was included and the complimentary upgrade this was fantastic value for money. Absolutely recommend.

Emily was everything I could have asked for! She supported us throughout the process, gave guidance when required and made our vision come to life. Emily was absolutely amazing, a credit to the venue and an integral part of our experience.

All the pictures looked amazing with the grounds in the background. Everyone went above and beyond, had no complaints and everything was done in a timely manner.

Phaedra was amazing, didn’t bother me too much on the day but coordinated everything perfectly and brought my vision to life with minimal instructions. The food all tasted great and there was plenty. Phaedra was absolutely amazing and the perfect person to have on our side.

The grounds are extremely well kept and such a beautiful seasonal array of flowers. Laura was fantastic at getting us booked in and providing lots of helpful advice and information.

Hannah and Ann were absolutely wonderful, made the entire process a breeze. The bar and waiting staff  went above and beyond the tasks asked of them.

Laura was fantastic at providing the info we needed to book. Everyone we’ve spoken to in the build-up has been beyond helpful, and our wedding planner Emily has been fantastic.

I don’t know his name but there was one barman, a young guy with longish black hair, who was absolutely excellent on the day and a few of our guests commented how fantastic he was!

Emily has gone above and beyond, from little hints and tips in the build-up to the support on the day. I felt totally reassured that nothing was too much trouble and Emily was so easy to deal with and approachable. She was fantastic – thank you Emily!

The food was fantastic. 

Absolutely amazing venue. Not only it is beautiful in and around the castle, there’s so much more.

First of all, the team KNOW what they’re doing. They are extremely organised, since the first enquiry to the end of the wedding day and the next morning, they have exceeded our expectations. They have made it so easy for us. We just needed to make a few decisions, but all the right questions were asked and delivered exactly as per our requests, they took care of everything. Lucy, our Wedding Manager was brilliant to work with and she’s lovely. We have expected at least some things to go wrong on the day, but NOTHING did. Lucy and Team are very experienced. I’m sure the rest of the Wedding Managers there are just as good.

We have also been able to visit the castle as many times as we wanted prior to the wedding. We went to check out all the HUGE rooms with cocktails in our hands and canapes being served too (it was useful to see all the rooms prior and after booking the venue as we have allocated rooms to our guests and could then see who is staying where. There’s a jacuzzi in the honeymoon suite!). The dinner/tasting date was amazing too. Food was again, so much better than what we thought it would be, it was excellent and our guests said the same. Cocktails and canapes were brilliant, everyone loved them! And let’s not forget the evening buffet and morning breakfast. Excellent food!

And for those of you having the wedding in the colder months – do not worry, the castle is very warm, they have fire places and can increase heating for you as much as needed!

And best of all – you get the whole place to yourself! There will be no strangers lurking around, just you and your guests.

We could not recommend this place and team who work there any more!

Beautiful setting and stunning backdrop for our special day. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and presented. Classic castle bedrooms with lovely windows.

Jacuzzi in bridal suite was great and bed very comfy. We decided to book the venue as soon as we left from our initial viewing.

Wedding Planner Emily was absolutely excellent from start to finish. Food tasting was great as well. Great reception meal and staff. Planner had everything under control leaving us to enjoy such a beautiful, happy and joyous day.

Food was great and enjoyed by all. Fish and chip supper a great choice and enjoyed by all. Good breakfast enjoyed by all and lovely to spend time with family and friends prior to departure. 

The general ambience, styling and setting of the internal rooms within the Castle was perfect in every way.

Many guests commented on the beautiful rooms and the quality of the spaces available to us on the day.

The Castle itself, and the grounds are the perfect backdrop to the day – particularly helped as the sun was shining!

From the initial tour of the Castle, through to the booking process, all was managed efficiently and in a pleasant and collaborative manner.

We were extremely fortunate to have been allocated Hannah as our Wedding Manager – she was warm, friendly, informative and very patient with us as we worked through the finer details of the pre-wedding planning.

Guests all seemed to enjoy the flavour profiles of the selected canapes. Good quality, and nice touch to enable a group breakfast, including those guests staying at The Wyndham. Perfect end to a lovely experience!

Happy with the choices and quality of the options available at all of the bars. Hannah and Laura in particular for all of their support throughout, from booking our date, through to planning support, and a flawless execution on the big day itself! We were so pleased that we chose Clearwell Castle to celebrate our special day and look forward to returning in the future. Thanks so much to the entire team.
