We are delighted to announce that Clearwell Castle has won an award at Hitched Wedding Awards 2024 in the Castle Wedding Venue Category – this was awarded was thanks to all the amazing reviews & testimonials that our couples gave us in 2023!
The Castle was also voted ‘Best Castle Wedding Venue’ at the British Wedding Awards 2020! This is an incredible achievement after being shortlisted this category at both Hitched’s UK Wedding Awards 2019 AND the British Wedding Awards 2019! We were voted ‘Best UK Wedding Venue’ in the British Wedding Awards 2018 by our couples & readers of Wedding Ideas Magazine for the third year running – fingers crossed we can make four in a row!
We were finalists for the same awards in 2015. In addition, we were shortlisted as ‘Best Castle Wedding Venue’ at the UK Wedding Awards 2017, were regional winners at the English Wedding awards 2016, and were overall winners of the Wedding Ideas Awards in 2012 and 2010.

All of our guests asked how we found out about such a stunning venue and passed on very positive comments about the food.
It could of not been any better, some of our guests have said they are coming back for a date night, us included.

Research is key when it comes to choosing a wedding venue. We searched, we compared, we visited and we took advice, and after it all, we found our dream venue, Clearwell Castle. The grounds are stunning, the rooms are breath taking, and the list of boxes the venue’ ticks’ just goes on and on.
We were able to feed and rest weary travellers when flights were cancelled, we held a pre-wedding party the night before at the venues very own historic public house. Summer, in charge of the Wyndham public house was fantastic. It was a sheer delight to witness the faces of guests as they drove up to the castle entrance, revealing medieval splendour like no other.
The amazing staff relieved us of all stress, with Hannah, our very own wedding manager controlling the whole event like a seasoned professional. We can not thank Ann the venue manager and her whole staff enough. All our suppliers and contractors were well looked after and all points of contact were flawless. The way we helped plan the running order and how it just flowed is all down to the experience of the Castle staff. We know how important reviews are for wedding venues, and if you are reading this, you are probably doing your research, so we want to convey what a superb venue Clearwell Castle really is.

My wife, who has walking difficulties, and I attended Sarah’s wedding and thoroughly enjoyed the attentiveness of all your staff, but Genene stood out for us, She organised a change of our bedroom in the court yard so that we were on the ground floor and explained all the disabled access solutions. This allowed us to enjoy the proceedings without further worry
At every turn, and there were many, Genene was happy to help, always with a smile and nothing it seemed was too much trouble. Please thank all your staff, but particularly Genene, for helping us to relax and soak up the occasion.
