After months or even years of planning, most brides and grooms feel like their wedding days are over in a flash. Although the big day itself can’t last forever, your wedding photographs are there to provide reminders of the love and laughter shared on that very special occasion. Your wedding photos deserve so much more than being filed away on your computer or in one of the many photo albums lining your bookshelves. There are a number of alternative, creative ways that you can showcase your wedding photos around your home.
Photo garlands
Photo garlands are a great idea for wedding décor, and they’re excellent home decorations that can be embraced in properties. These photo garlands add a magical touch to any home as well as provide a great and unexpected way of showcasing all of those favourite moments from your wedding day. You can even give the ultimate nod to your big day by adding the photo displays you used as part of your wedding décor to your home.
Coffee table book
Tell visitors to your home all about your very own love story by getting your wedding photos bound in a coffee table book. Far from the standard wedding album, coffee table books add an unforgettable and personal touch to any living space, and ensure your wedding photos aren’t left gathering dust on a nearby shelf.
Table runner
Relive your wedding day every time you have dinner with a wedding collage table runner. The wedding collage table runner is fast becoming the wedding décor trend of the season (it’s great for vintage inspired weddings) but the idea will translate perfectly at home too. In fact, it’s the perfect post-wedding DIY project! Here Gianna of Chic Celebrations explains how to create your own on wedding blog Ruffled:
“This is such a fun way to display photos at a wedding or event, and also a fabulous conversation starter. You’ll need a strip of fabric (muslin can be bought at craft stores like Michaels), cut the length you would like your runner to be, but the width of it should be a little thinner than you want (we did ours floor length to add drama to the table) and copies of the photos you’d like to use. Old family wedding photos, engagement photos and childhood photos are perfect for this (if you don’t want to use original photos, you can print copies for a few cents each at cost effective photo printing places like Costco – or simply print them with your printer using photo paper).”
Custom portrait
Turn your wedding photos into works of art and your home into your very own personal gallery space by commissioning a custom art portrait to be created from your favourite wedding photo. It’s a great way to add even more class to your elegant wedding imagery. Love art? Check out our top tips for planning a wedding inspired by art or your favourite artist.
